History

It began as an idle conversation in the early 1990s, as a group of women in the healthcare industry began talking about creating an association that would provide a forum for professional women.

The first executive included Patricia Brown, Maureen McCarthy, Debbi Halliday, Manon Richer, Michelle Garneau and Jo-Ann Oakley. In October 1993, over 60 women from Montreal’s pharmaceutical industry sat down to lunch at Le Vieux St. Charles. It is a testament to the organization’s continued appeal that many of these women are attending meetings close to 15 years later.

We continue to meet five times a year at the Dorval Airport Hilton, for convivial evenings devoted to a networking cocktail hour, followed by a stimulating dinner speaker, perhaps with shoes kicked off under the table.

Membership continues to grow steadily year after year. A strong networking association has developed, and friendships and business relationships have flourished. We continually strive for new and interesting topics to present, and more ways to contribute to the community.
